Iran’s ambassador meets Iraqi Kurdistan officials

TEHRAN – Hassan Danaeefar, Iran’s ambassador to Iraq, has held separate meetings with the president, premier and head of the security department of the autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan Government.


In his meeting with Massoud Barzani, president of the Iraqi Kurdistan Government, Danaeefar discussed political situation in the region and ways to expand bilateral ties.

Barzani also expressed concern about the recent incidents in Iran-Iraq border areas, saying the Kurdistan government’s officials have always announced that violent action is not the right solution to the conflicts in the region.

On October 9, two gunmen opened fire on several police officers on patrol at a square in the city of Sanandaj in the western province of Kurdistan, killing four policemen and a bystander.

The conflicts in the area should be resolved through interaction and cooperation, he stated

well it was 6 kills as people say here , 5 police and 1 civilian (that people say he was killed by police shooting the gunmans ) and 2 injured (1 police and one old man) in Sine shooting
