Look, where we are now. We are discussing about a bilingual federal state, formation of a kurdish-security force to replace the Turkish police and soldiers, autonomy and so on..

10 years ago we had Leyla Zana uttering two lines of Kurdish in Turkish parliament and she ended up in jail, today we have Kurdish MPs speaking only in Kurdish in Turkish parliament, defining the fundamental principals of this republic.

We even have Kurdish TV channels, radio stations, schools and a PM Erdogan speaking in Kurdish on live TV!

If I were a Kurd in Turkey, the AKP would defiantly be my party. I mean think about it, in less than 8 years they've achieved what PKK couldn't in 30 years.

Don't you think?

All these came about because of existence of PKK. Do you remember the call of AKP that Kurds even in South America are a threat to Turkish Republic.

Those happened not because PKK was strong or determine, but because the AKP administration was weak! By 2001, the PKK was finished and defeated (militarily). All pkk members were routed out of Turkey and were hiding in N.Iraq mountains. Your leader, whom you idolize so much, was put in prison and pkk was left leaderless with TSK-backed pkk members fighting other pkk groups in N.Iraq. The divide and rule strategy was in effect and it was successful.

Why do you think the majority of the Kurds vote for the AKP instead of DTP (BDP)?
DTP gets no more than 5% of the votes in Turkey...

No one denies that Turkey is taking some Turtle steps towards democracy , but these steps are far from being even satisfactory . Do you think Kurds should be greatful for being allowed to speak our language of having a TV station ? These are penut rights and came at a very hight price .

AKP gets no credit for the Kurdish initiatives , it is the Kurds and PKK that gets all the credit .

I disagree with your view. It is not because AKP became weak, it is because Kurds with their wise use of PKK won publicity in Europe and made Turkey to appear like Nazi Germany.

Are you sure PKK became headless? if so how happened their leader still commands them from inside his prison?

@Turk

You can't compare Turkey with an ordinary totalitarian dictatorship like Iran or Iraq (under Saddam). Turkey has ambitions, and the Turks want to be a part of Europe - and even the Turks, which are against the EU, know that Turkey is strongly influenced by USA, and so they have to change...

Do you believe it is easy to suppress a nation like the Kurds forever ? The political compromises of the AKP were not a product of brotherly love - it was a product of Kurdish struggle for independence and for equality ! We fought for this rights, and we led too many blood ! And the international pressure on Turkey is also a factor for this change, and not the presence of the AKP ! The Turks profited from the Cold- War, when they served the capitalists, therefore it was allowed to suppress Kurds.
But times are changing, today the world won't accept the Turkish despotism any more !

It is a historical error of Kurds, to believe that there are some people within our political enemies, who are good with us...this is wrong ! I wouldn't say, that all Turks are bad, or something else, but when it comes to politics and Kurds, 98 % of Turks are against Kurdish interests...

Chi ferq nav bera seyê resh û spî nîn e...
