Can anyone tell me why Iran banned Borat!: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan ???

It mocks jews and americans, and got nothing against persians whatsoever, anyone knows?

Edit:
They also banned Fahrenheit 9/11, why?! It's anti-american.

This list owns, had a lot of fun browsing it.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that those movies contain material which is "indecent" and also some of the scenes may have been considered "immoral" by the IRI...

when you mention it, lol... Yeah, it does, but also contains a lot of which I though would have been loved by Iran, mocking of jews and americans as an instance

Maybe it was such a horrible movie that they couldn't stand watching it even if it did make fun of the Americans.

I am terribly sorry if I have offended your taste in movies, but such a movie was not in the least hilarious. It was far too crude and senseless to draw out any laughter as you would have heard from anyone that has watch that movie.

it's crudeness is what made it so funny. Not to mention he himself is Jewish, pretty much going undercover exposing the filth that world is full with. It's a genius idea. If you don't like it that's fine, but for me I laugh very much at "hunting the Jew"...lol...

I am sorry, but to most people that was a little bit too crude. I mean throughout most of the film you see a guy's naked butt and the only trivial jokes made are those that make fun of the turkic people.

Also making fun of Jews isn't really hilarious. Plus the actor of the film isn't a Jew, he is a British actor and possibly a religious bigot. People who find this funny are social-paths.

The guy who plays Borat is a Jew, if he wasn't a Jew, there is no way he would be able to get away with this, even in the states. Most people I know loved it, as it is an honest look into the minds of some our most idiotic people roaming earth.

Like a bunch of rednecks cheering some guy from Kazahstan saying that Iraq should be so bad that it wont be livable for thousands of years, is how many people think. Also when he sings the Kazahstan anthom, where he basically says all other countries are shit compared to his, this was funny.

Kazahstan the real life country is so pissed ;)

He lives in Britain so of course he'll get away with it.

Darkseid - you sound very arrogant and full of yourself...

A less prejudiced attitude would be good. Refering to: "People who find this funny are social-paths."...

Everybody here should talk for themselves - and not in ultimate and absolute truths... We are all individuals. Some people will like the movie and think it's funny while others won't... No need to attack eachother and make fun of eachother over a movie...

Besides, he is Jewish and the movie was an atempt at a satire...

Just my 2 cents...

Diri you are getting on my nerves and you have just insulted me.

Look Diri, just because you are a moderator and therefore can get away with these sorts of things by cleverly defending them as something they aren't in front of Dyaoko or someone else, you still should try and respect my opinions rather than attacking me as though i'm the bad guy.

And as I have said, that movie offends me. Should I not say that?

FYI, you are starting to offend me.

I am merely reacting to your insults aimed at those who liked the movie.

You are openly saying: "People who find this funny are social-paths."...

So if I or Sicpit or somebody else liked the movie - then we are social-paths? Is that not an insult?

So it's one rule for you and another for everybody else, is it?

I am not attacking you - merely pointing out that you have offended people with your tone... If you feel insulted by my post (which is baseless) then you must be very sensitive to equality... It's one rule for all...
