hello everybody. inshallah you're all doing well. my name is matin. i'm 18 from los angeles. i signed on to this page just last night and so far it is great. the topics are very interesting and everybody is very nice. since i'm only half kurdish and i only learned farsi i want to improve my kurdi and learn more about my heritage. i would also love to meet new people. rojeki xosh, matin

Welcome to Roj Bash Kurdistan, Metîn can... Xoş hatî! :D

So you're half-Kurdish and half-Persian?

Either way - your name is fully Kurdish... There is an old (even "ancient") Kurdish folksong about "Lawkê Metînî" - "The Mitannian Lad"... The Mitannians being one of the many peoples which Kurds consider their ancestors...

By the way - I'm Sohrab, a 22 year old Kurd from Ûrmiye ("Ouromiyeh") - Iranian Kurdistan...

zor spas londoner and deset derd neke kak sohrab. the song was very nice. i've heard a few of aynur doxan's songs before, she is a good singer.

What do you mean "original"? It's a song which has existed for maybe a hundred years - maybe a thousand or more... It's a folksong - which has been sung by a dozen gazillion people... And survived till today...

There is one person sang it very beautifully - a man... Let me see if I can upload his version... It's an older version - maybe 30-40 or 50 years old...

Let me see what I can do...

Meanwhile, I have transcribed the lyrics and they can now be found in the Lyrics section...
