Kurdish food in my oppinion, is just as good as Indian food... And I realy LOVE Indian food...

In Poland and East Europe you boil a lot of your food... In Kurdistan we steak and grill most of food... And you use salt and pepper while we use a lot of spices and herbs - that's the difference between Kurdish and European food...

We are like a mix of Indian and European foods - Kurdistan is the crossroad of cultures, food etc... We have so many different foods it's amazing...

and when I was in England and kurdish people was cook for me, I was see that they use a lot of pepper and salt.. my god! but everything was really good
and one day to my boyfriend home,was come one friend.. im not sure but he was cook Indian food,.... i think so hmmm
anyway...he was use to much chili because my eyes was look like after cry heehehh so is to hot for me hehehe
we was laught because we couldn't eat that food.. hehhee

This is just another reason why I feel Kurdish culture is closer to Indian rather than Iranian. I hope this means that there is a wide variety of Vegetarian foods I can eat. I would hate when I finally go to SOuthern Kurdistan to eat only plain rice and potatoes. I was a littel worried because generally the middle eastern foods I have tried have all been meat bassed

Hi Sicpit,
I am a new member (as of yesterday) so I don't know if it is OK to post here or not, but I think you may have a little problem with finding vegetarian food here in South Kurdistan... even though there is no shortage of fresh fruit and vegetables.

But if you are coming, you can always call me... I brought lots of Indian spices with me and supplement with locally available ones in the bazaar and cook vegetarian Indian food for my boyfriend and myself. He cooks vegetarian Turkish/Kurdish. (Neither of us are vegetarians, but we get tired of all the HUGE quantities of mutton in everything). Some of our local friends make us special dolma (with only half the meat). I still haven't told them that this there is no such thing as "half-vegetarian" because it tastes so good this way- just a little meat and a lot of lemon.
